Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:
Identify the pathophysiology underlying viscous mucus production, epididymal obstruction, and sinopulmonary complications in Young syndrome.
Differentiate Young syndrome from cystic fibrosis and primary ciliary dyskinesia based on clinical presentation, diagnostic findings, and key distinguishing features.
Determine the appropriate management strategy for Young syndrome, including airway clearance, antimicrobial therapy, surgical options, and assisted reproductive technologies.
Implement collaborative interprofessional healthcare team strategies across pulmonology, urology, and otolaryngology to improve early detection of Young syndrome and prevent long-term complications.
