Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be better able to:
Identify the presentation of a patient with a parotid tumor, integrating patient history, physical examination, and predisposing risk factors or comorbidities.
Select appropriate imaging modalities, such as ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, or computed tomography, to aid preoperative planning and intraoperative decision-making for patients undergoing parotidectomy.
Determine the anatomical structures and landmarks associated with the parotid gland to ensure accurate surgical localization during parotidectomy.
Implement communication among the interprofessional team to ensure appropriate preoperative evaluation and general condition to optimize postoperative outcomes of parotidectomy.
